NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary for the weekend matchups via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through select stations for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , after recent talk about two top teams being possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests was the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this Sunday.

But it proved positive to see that Denver's QB the rookie managed to overcome the shortfall before direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the victory by four points.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They are first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver won that battle.

They had effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't always sending extra defenders instead they could plug two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said on a program how Denver could be the current year's dark horses. They finished last season strongly then did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

New TE their tight end has stepped up big and new running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth league-wide in ground gains (over 400) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a squad aiming to run first, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable situations.

It's also benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to throw all over, however they don't move in the same way as Nix. He boasts exceptional arm talent, which is different, and he is highly agile.

His strengths include his movement, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to make the pass as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

When you constantly rush it consumes time and makes the defence to be in play for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defense must cover the area vertically and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton during games at times and it seems Payton appreciates that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him how he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

The head coach has won a championship and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. In my opinion the success the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix helps shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working above average, which is a solid position to hold their division. All they need is is maintain this path.

They excel at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and that's precisely what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win any game.

Since the league started recording takeaways decades ago, the Jets are the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends upon which form of the Chiefs they face because Denver {beat|def
